1970-1974 E-body Standard Dash Gauge Lens

Reproduction of the dash instrument panel gauge lens for 1970-1974 Barracuda and Challenger models equipped with standard gauges. This reproduction is manufactured from crystal clear high quality injection molded acrylic material. Each lens is manufactured to replicate the original in every detail and features correct markings including a Pentastar logo for complete authenticity. Black accent paint is featured on the lower half of the speedometer area same as original!.

Note: For use with standard gauges only. Not for use on models originally equipped with Rallye gauges.

For these models, the standard dash gauge lens in the instrument cluster would have been a clear or transparent lens covering the gauges. The specific design and features of the dash gauge lens might vary based on the model year and options.

Here are some general characteristics of the standard dash gauge lens for the 1970-1974 E-body vehicles:

  1. Material:

    • The standard dash gauge lens was typically made of clear acrylic or plastic material.
    • It was designed to protect the instrument cluster gauges while allowing for clear visibility.
  2. Shape and Fit:

    • The lens was molded to fit the shape of the instrument cluster on the dash.
    • It covered the various gauges, such as the speedometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, and others.
  3. Information Display:

    • The standard lens did not usually have any additional information or markings on its surface.
    • It allowed for a direct view of the instrument cluster gauges and indicators.
  4. Mounting:

    • The lens was mounted in front of the gauges and secured to the instrument cluster with screws or other fasteners.

Fitment: 1970-1974 Barracuda and Challenger

The 1960s muscle car era was a time of great innovation and growth in the automotive industry. It was a period of intense competition between car manufacturers, as they sought to outdo one another with increasingly powerful and sophisticated vehicles.

During this time, muscle cars became increasingly popular, particularly among younger car enthusiasts. These cars were known for their large, powerful engines, aggressive styling, and high-performance capabilities. Some of the most iconic muscle cars of the era include the Chevrolet Chevelle SS, the Ford Mustang, and the Plymouth Road Runner.

The muscle car era was marked by a number of technological innovations that helped to push the limits of automotive performance. One of the most significant of these was the development of the V8 engine, which allowed for increased horsepower and torque. Other innovations included the use of lighter materials in car construction, the adoption of fuel injection systems, and the use of advanced transmission technologies.

The muscle car era was also marked by a strong sense of cultural significance. These cars were symbols of American muscle and power, and they were often featured in popular culture, such as movies and music. The muscle car era came to an end in the 1970s, as rising fuel prices and stricter emissions regulations led to a shift towards more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Despite the end of the muscle car era, these vehicles continue to hold a special place in the hearts of car enthusiasts around the world. They are celebrated as symbols of a bygone era of automotive innovation and power, and their legacy lives on in the modern high-performance vehicles of today.
